Hmm..so no one can give me a clue on this? Would this mean this is impossible? If so, how would you go around this if not using XSL?

Hello all,

Id like to create my own RSS news aggregator on my site. The source of these news items are from external RSS feeds. Im having problems getting rid of advertisments (text, URLs and images) which are within the description of the xml.

This is what I have so far:

Code for xmltest.xml:

<?xml version="1.0"?><?xml-stylesheet href="feeder.xsl" type="text/xsl" ?>
<feed src="http://www.wired.com/news/feeds/rss2/0,2610,,00.xml"/>
<feed src="http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss"/>

Code for feeder.xsl:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?><xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"><xsl:template match="feeds">

<html><head><title>Today's News</title></head>
   <xsl:template match="feed">
   <xsl:apply-templates select="document(@src)"/>
   <xsl:template match="channel">
    <h1><xsl:value-of select="title"/></h1>
    <xsl:apply-templates select="item"/>
   <xsl:template match="item">
    <xsl:element name="a">
      <xsl:attribute name="href">
        <xsl:apply-templates select="link" />
      <xsl:value-of select="title"/>
     <br />
   <xsl:value-of select="description"/>
     <br />
    <xsl:if test="pubDate">
      <xsl:value-of select="pubDate"/>
And this is part of what Im getting as a result:

The world's search giant is set to get even bigger, as the federal authorities are proposing to allow it to buy travel-search company ITA. But the approval comes with some conditions intended to spare dedicated travel search sites. <p><a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/Xi8_rJjgaYTPcc6SG6nIOcWp5qU/0/da"><img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/Xi8_rJjgaYTPcc6SG6nIOcWp5qU/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"></img></a><br/> <a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/Xi8_rJjgaYTPcc6SG6nIOcWp5qU/1/da"><img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/Xi8_rJjgaYTPcc6SG6nIOcWp5qU/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"></img></a></p><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/wired/index/~4/BNP3zW4fPnY" height="1" width="1"/>
